Who we are and what we actually do

Napiercore is a strategy and management consulting firm headquartered in Napier, New Zealand. We work with chief executives, boards, and senior leadership teams who face decisions that are consequential enough to warrant independent, expert analysis — and who want a consulting relationship that is direct, time-bounded, and focused on a defined outcome. Our advisory practice covers four disciplines: strategy development, operations improvement, transformation advisory, and structured strategic advisory for discrete decisions. We serve organisations in the private sector, the public sector, and the not-for-profit space across Hawke's Bay and the wider New Zealand market. Our engagements are led by senior advisers, not delegated to analysts. Every client receives a named lead who owns the work, is accountable for its quality, and is present in every substantive conversation. We were established in 2017 and have since completed engagements for more than sixty organisations across a range of sectors, with a particular concentration in primary industry, infrastructure, health, and professional services — the dominant sectors of the Hawke's Bay regional economy.
How we work — and what we will not compromise on
Our process is deliberate, our communication is direct, and our scope discipline is non-negotiable.
Every Napiercore engagement begins with a diagnostic conversation in which we attempt to understand not just the presenting problem but the conditions — organisational, financial, political — that surround it. If we believe we can produce a result that is worth the client's investment, we propose a fixed-scope, fixed-fee engagement with clearly defined deliverables and a defined endpoint. We do not extend engagements without a new scope agreement, and we do not introduce additional consultants to increase billings. What the client agrees to at the outset is what they pay at the end. Our advisers bring direct experience in the sectors and disciplines we advise on. We do not offer recruitment, IT implementation, or legal services — those require different qualifications and different accountability structures. When a client's situation calls for capabilities outside our scope, we name that clearly in the first conversation. The azure-trust palette that defines our visual identity reflects something we take seriously professionally: the kind of calm, clear confidence that only comes from knowing the work is genuinely sound. Results depend on the quality of the analysis, the clarity of the strategy, and the organisation's own commitment to execute — we can strengthen all three, but we cannot substitute for leadership resolve.
